Dependable.
Delivered.
SCube is a web engineering business founded in 2005. Its UK limited company was incorporated in Leicester in 2013. Most of our clients are British. Most of our engineers are in Indian towns that recruiters skip. Both facts are the strategy.
Three powers
Agencies fail in predictable ways: the wrong people on the job, no process holding the promise together, or tooling held with string. We built SCube against all three, and we named the answers so clients can hold us to them.
Specialists
Senior people who have shipped the thing before. A Contentful build is led by someone who has done Contentful builds, not someone reading the docs on your budget. We train juniors hard, but never on a client's critical path.
Structure
Scope in writing before work starts. Weekly delivery you can see, not status theatre. A change costs what it costs and you hear the number before we do the work. This is most of what "on budget" means in practice.
System
Years of reusable tooling: migration machinery, deployment pipelines, QA checklists that exist because something once went wrong. The system is why a small firm delivers like a large one.
The practice
Outside India we are known for two things: headless CMS work and WordPress done properly. Everything below sits on one of those two spines.
Headless CMS engineering
Contentful and Sanity builds, from modelling the content to shipping the front end. The hard part is never the framework. It is designing content structures editors can actually live in three years later, and that is the part we are known for.
WordPress at scale
We have built on WordPress since 2013, including years selling our own themes on ThemeForest. We know where it breaks, and we know when it is honestly the right answer.
Composable commerce
Storefronts assembled from the right parts rather than one monolith, for teams that have outgrown their platform.
Web applications
Portals, dashboards and internal tools. The unglamorous software that runs a business day to day.
iOS and Android
Mobile apps where the case is real, usually as the second act of a web product that earned it.
Replatforming and migration
Moving a website without losing its content, its rankings or its editors' sanity is a discipline of its own. We built internal machinery for it, then turned that machinery into breeze.bar, our own product for agencies doing the same work. When we say we have done your migration before, we mean we productised it.
Careers,
not headcount
Most agencies with Indian engineering hire in Bangalore or Pune and compete on churn. We hire in smaller cities and towns, on purpose, and train people who have never seen the inside of an agency.
It is slower and it costs more at the start. What it buys is a team that stays, grows and cares, and a developer with a real career who did not have to leave their family to get it. In India, SCube's reputation is not a technology. It is that we are fair. I protect that harder than any client relationship, because it is upstream of every client relationship.
This is also where the business stops being separate from everything else I do. A fair employer in a tier two town is the equipping thesis with a payroll.
breeze.bar
Website migration and information management for agencies. Born as internal tooling in 2021, launched on AppSumo as a lifetime deal in 2023. It never became the rocket I hoped for, and I have stopped pretending otherwise. It became something rarer: a small product that its users depend on daily, kept alive because that dependence deserves respect.
Rizen Media
A video studio for the creator economy: short form editing, motion graphics, podcast and YouTube production, moving into content strategy. About two years old, and the fastest growing thing in the group. The bet is that every business is about to need a video operation the way every business once needed a website.
96Boards, for Linaro
The proof that the practice is old, not the practice itself. Linaro asked us to brand and grow 96Boards, their open hardware initiative built around Arm. We did the identity, then spent three years on the part nobody frames on a wall: the forum, the mailing list, the YouTube channel, the documentation.
I still think the forum did more for that project than the logo did.
Before that, SCube Themes put our products in front of thousands of buyers on ThemeForest. Stocky, our photography marketplace theme, was the hit; CharityWP did well; the theme market itself eventually died. Shipping our own products for a decade is why we are calm about shipping yours.
